Phillips Ranch
Saint Jo, Texas
We are a family owned and operated 1,100-acre cattle ranch in Saint Jo, Texas established in 1897. The ranch has been in continuous operation on the land purchased by George Washington (G.W.) Phillips and passed down to four generations. The ranch is in Montague and Cooke Counties divided by Highway 82. We run a cow calf operation of predominantly black Brangus cattle. The ranch today is managed by the fourth and fifth generations.
The ranch received the Family Land Heritage Award in 1999. The program honors those farms and ranches, which have been in continuous agricultural production at the hand of one family for 100 years or more.
